Mt. Paektu, Sacred Place of Sun
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- Mt. Paektu, the native place of leader Kim Jong Il, has been regarded as the sacred place of the sun among not only the DPRK people but also the world progressives.

The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan said that Mt. Paektu, which fascinates all people with its magnificent image and various natural phenomena, is symbolic of the distinguished personality and temper of Kim Jong Il who possessed great aspiration, rare wisdom, matchless courage, indomitable will, broad magnanimity and outstanding leadership.

The chairperson of the Nepal Journalist Association noted that Mt. Paektu, the birthplace of Kim Jong Il, will shine as the home dear to the world progressives' heart, and recited the Korean poem "We'll Go to Mt. Paektu Everywhere".

The president of the Canar Provincial Institute for the Friendship and Solidarity with the DPRK of Ecuador said that H.E. Kim Jong Il made a great contribution to the accomplishment of the human cause of independence with his Songun (military-first) politics.

The world progressives' admiration for Kim Jong Il is also witnessed by many craftworks and art works, which portray the Paektusan Secret Camp, presented to him.

Among them are a mother-of-pearl work representing the sunrise over Mt. Paektu sent from China and "Paektusan Secret Camp" etched on a copper plate which was presented by Philippine figures.
