The letter noted that with his unique Songun politics, Generalissimo Kim Jong Il reliably defended socialism centered on the popular masses, a valuable heritage of President Kim Il Sung, turned the country into an invincible political and military power, a full-fledged nuclear weapons state and an earth satellite manufacturing and launching state and laid solid and eternal foundations for the prosperity of the country and the nation and for the happiness of all generations to come.

The precious revolutionary feats of Kim Jong Il who had lived every moment of his life with ardent love and noble devotion to the country and the nation only are always kept in the hearts of all Koreans and the world people, and they will shine long for all ages along with socialist Korea which will grow stronger and prosper, it said.

With noble loyalty and revolutionary obligation, Marshal Kim Jong Un has held Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal leader of Kim Il Sung's nation and made sure that steady continuity is given to his sacred revolutionary life and undying revolutionary exploits, the letter noted, adding:
