The message said that the life of Kim Jong Il shines as the annals of the most outstanding leader and peerless patriot who performed undying exploits before the motherland, nation, times and humankind despite manifold difficulties under the uplifted banner of the red flag of the revolution all his life.

It noted that as Kim Jong Il led the nationwide struggle of all Koreans for achieving independent reunification and the great national unity by thoroughly carrying out the three charters for national reunification, the whole land of Korea was swept by the strong trend for independent reunification, peace and prosperity in the June 15 era of reunification advancing in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

It pointed out that the idea and cause of Kim Jong Il are being carried forward, commanding admiration from the people of the world, as the army and people of the DPRK are holding Kim Jong Un in high esteem today.

The path of national reunification and the ways of struggle for it clarified by Kim Jong Un at the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and in his New Year Address for this year serve as practical programmes for achieving the cause of independent reunification at an earliest possible date and the banner arousing all Koreans to the nationwide struggle for building dignified, prosperous and reunified power, it said.

It noted that the AINDF Central Committee would open up a broad avenue to independent reunification without fail this year marking the 45th anniversary of the publication of the July 4 joint statement and the 10th anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration while holding fast to the Juche-oriented reunification line and policies advanced by Kim Jong Un as the ever-victorious banner for national reunification.
