Joint National Meeting of Korean Children's Union Organizations Held

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) organizations took place here on Feb. 16, the 75th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. It was attended by the delegates of the KCU organizations from each province and schoolchildren here, and pupils to join the KCU. Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, vice-chairman of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, and Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, and officials of the youth league and officials concerned and war veterans and persons of merit. Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the C.C., the youth league, in his report recalled that Kim Jong Il brought up the rising generations into the pillars of powerful Korea with his noble outlook on the generations to come as natural disposition. He noted that the history of his love for them has been given a steady continuity thanks to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. Then followed a KCU admission ceremony. The pupils joining the KCU took an oath led by Choe Thae Bok. Officials, war veterans and persons of merit put red ties around the necks of the pupils and pinned KCU badges on their dresses. The new KCU members made the first salute of the KCU members, responding to the slogan "Let us be always ready for socialist country!" Congratulatory speeches were made at the meeting. |
