U.S. Arms Buildup Escalates Tension on Korean Peninsula
|
|
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- A U.S. missile tracking warship Howard Lorentzen, equipped with X-band and S-band radars, entered the Pusan Port of south Korae on February 12, according to its Yonhap News. The U.S. seeks to deploy THAAD in south Korea under the pretext of someone's "provocation." It is going to get its nuclear carrier Carl Vinson involved in the joint military drills to be staged in south Korea in March. Nuclear-capable strategic bombers on Guam and in the U.S. mainland and stealth fighter jets in Japan are on standby to make sorties to south Korea. Such reckless arms buildup is pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula to an unpredictable phase. |
