Present there were Kim Song Hun, director of the Department for Publicity and Culture of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Chairman Ri Yong Su and members of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, leading officials of Chongryon organizations and enterprises, teachers and students of Korean University and Chongryon officials and compatriots in Kanto.

At the seminar, speakers noted that respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un at the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea called for holding fast to the general line of socialist construction and the self-development-first spirit as the eternal strategic line and set the building of a sci-tech power as an important target to be hit on a priority basis in building a socialist power.

They explained the successes registered by the DPRK last year in the 70-day campaign for greeting the 7th WPK Congress with labor achievements and the 200-day campaign for making a breakthrough in the implementation of the five-year strategy for national economic development.

They stressed that the tasks set forth by Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address would be successfully carried out in line with the above-said strategy.

They noted that last year the DPRK's strategic position and influence underwent signal enhancement and the U.S. and the south Korean puppet group faced shameful failure in their anachronistic "strategic patience" policy and anti-DPRK racket.

They said that the DPRK would further enhance its international influence and develop the external relations on its own initiative and in a diverse way.
