Passage of Anti-Media Control Bill through NA Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- Members of the press trade union in south Korea held a press conference in demand of the passage of anti-media control bill through "National Assembly" on Feb. 21, according to the south Korean paper Nodong and Segye. Speakers at the conference noted that lawmakers from opposition parties demand the passage but some ruling party lawmakers are evading the issue. To block the passage is an intention to use MBC and KBS as trophies, they said, demanding the passage for the revival of freedom of media. They declared their will to make public the politicians who blocked the passage of the bill and surely open the era of fair media. |
