Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK will sponsor the 28th Mangyongdae Prize International Marathon on the occasion of the Day of the Sun (April 15), the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, and the 20th World Taekwon-Do Championships from September 15 to 21. Pyongyang was the venue for the 8th and 17th World Taekwon-Do Championships in 1992 and 2011.

And the 2017 World Youth Judo Championship is slated for October. In the past, the DPRK produced many judo aces, including Olympic gold medalist and quadruple world champion.

Meanwhile, group B matches for the AFC Women's Asian Cup Jordan 2018 Qualifiers will take place in April and the home-and-away matches of group I for the 2017 AFC Cup from March to May.
