Active Hardening Accelerator Developed in DPRK

| Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- A research group of the 216 Division in the DPRK recently succeeded in developing and localizing an active concrete-hardening accelerator helpful to the wet construction even in winter. Now the division is in charge of reconstructing Samjiyon County, Ryanggang Province. It takes only a few hours for the accelerator to harden concrete mixture even in low temperature. The accelerator is mainly composed of industrial by-products and is a kind of powdered mineral-salt additive with low production cost but 3-4 times stronger than existing ones in accelerating hardening. It is free from rusting reinforcing bars, while making it possible to set timing for hardening. It has been proved effective in remodeling Samjiyon County. |
