Japan's Reparation for Past Crimes Demanded
Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Almost one century has passed since Japan committed such crime against humanity as indiscriminately suppressing or massacring more than 100,000 Koreans who shouted for the independence of Korea in peaceful demonstration but it has gone unpunished.

The Korean Committee on Measures for the Sexual Slavery for Japanese Army and Drafting Victims issued a statement Wednesday on this occasion.

It said:

Looking back on the scars that remain unhealed, the records of crimes, we are reminded once again of the militarist and imperialist nature of Japan that has remained unchanged despite the change of centuries and the replacement of generations.

Even some days ago, the chief Cabinet secretary of Japan made remarks denying the forcible drafting of Korean women as sexual slaves, Tok Islets, part of Korea's territory, were marked as territory of Japan in textbooks for the younger generation and a court allegedly protecting the Constitution denied without hesitation the right of the Korean students in Japan to national education.

Far-fetched assertions were made demanding the removal of girl statues depicting a sexual slave for the Imperial Japanese Army standing in other's land and the theory of "preemptive attack on missile bases in north Korea" is being openly advocated.

The situation clearly proves that Japan is not feeling guilty at all of aggression and crimes against humanity committed in the past but is making hurried preparations for reinvasion, buoyed by the militarist ambition and the ambition to take revenge that far surpass those expressed in the last century.

Failure to draw a lesson from the past wrongdoings is bound to cause bigger sins, and ensuing consequences will be disastrous.

Japan should clearly know that if it fails to draw a lesson from its crime-woven history and follows in the footsteps of its criminal ancestors, it will fall into the bottomless abyss of ruin.

We will certainly force Japan to pay due price for all sorts of misfortune, pain and losses it inflicted on Korea and its people century after century, and will wage a strenuous struggle till reparation is made before history.
