Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- Big efforts have been paid to the comprehensive mechanization of rural economy in the DPRK.

In this regard, Pang Song Hyon, chief engineer of the Management Bureau of Farm Machine Industry under the Ministry of Agriculture, told KCNA:

It is a national project to raise the rate of mechanization in farm work up to 60-70 percent as quickly as possible.

Recently, many successes have been made in the field of farm machine-building industry.

Scientists and technicians of the Farm Machine Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture, the Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, the Wonsan University of Agriculture and other units completed designs of farm machines suited to the physiographical features and local conditions of the country and constitution of Koreans.

New farm machines under development are integrated machines, self-propelled, multi-purpose and multi-functional.

Meanwhile, it has been pushed forward at farm machine factories across the country to fully equip themselves with facilities for producing new farm machines.
