DPRK Delegate Calls on NAM to Pay Attention to Situation on Korean Peninsula
Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- A DPRK delegate made an address at the ambassador-level conference of the Coordinating Committee of the NAM held in the UN headquarters on Feb. 28.

The delegate drew attention to the fact that a serious situation is prevailing on the Korean peninsula due to the U.S.-south Korea joint military drills contrary to the noble idea of the non-aligned movement and referred to their aggressive nature and the validity of the DPRK's measures to bolster up its nuclear force.

From the viewpoint of ensuring peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region, military actions for aggression on the DPRK are persisting in the region and, consequently, a grave situation has been created to adversely affect global peace and security, he noted, and went on:

The large-scale joint military drills staged by the U.S. against the DPRK every year have recorded an infamous history of more than six decades and reached such a dangerous phase that they may lead to a nuclear war any moment.

As all facts show, the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces' joint military drills are extremely aggressive and adventurous nuclear war drills aimed to bring down the DPRK from A to Z. Therefore, they pose a serious threat to peace and security on the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world.

The delegate expressed hope that the NAM whose basic mission is to oppose war and preserve peace would pay due attention to the serious situation on the peninsula and voice full support and solidarity to the DPRK's sincere efforts to defuse the danger of a nuclear war and ensure peace and security on the peninsula and the rest of the world.
