The statement said that the U.S. and south Korean warmongers are openly claiming the on-going nuclear war maneuvers are preemptive strike drills for invading the north, throwing away their trite signboard that they are "annual" and "defensive" in a bid to fool the public opinion at home and abroad.

The statement branded the madcap joint saber-rattling as a blatant challenge to the desire of the nation for the peace of the country, improved north-south relations and independent reunification and as unpardonable war provocation to violate the sovereignty of the Korean nation and bring a nuclear disaster to Korea.

Pomminryon will never tolerate the U.S. and its vassal forces' criminal scenario to bring the dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over this inviolable land but take the lead in the courageous nationwide struggle for checking it as declared before the nation at the recent 17th meeting of its co-chairmen, the statement noted, and continued:

Pomminryon will conduct a more dynamic nationwide struggle for forcing the U.S. troops out of south Korea at the earliest possible date with a view to eliminating the root cause of war from the Korean peninsula and building a lasting and solid peace-keeping mechanism by firmly joining hands with the people from all walks of life at home and abroad.

Pomminryon will sternly judge the conservative ruling forces of south Korea making desperate efforts to seek a way out in confrontation with fellow countrymen and war, backed by the U.S., the sworn enemy and principal enemy of the nation, and definitely usher in the second June 15 era of reunification pervaded with the atmosphere of national reconciliation, unity and reunification, freed from a war.

The statement appealed to all Koreans at home and abroad to turn out in the struggle for smashing the reckless nuclear war moves of the U.S. and its vassal forces and opening up a new phase of the peace of the country, improved north-south relations and independent reunification this year.
