Memorial Service for Koreans Killed during Horrible Air Raid on Tokyo Held
Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- A memorial service for the Korean victims was held in Tokyo on March 4 on the lapse of 72 years since the U.S. forces made an air raid on Tokyo, according to Choson Sinbo, mouthpiece of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

Present there were Jin Kil Sang, director of the Rights and Welfare Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Jo Il Yon, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon, and other officials of Chongryon, and Koreans in Kanto and the representative of the Tokyo fact-finding group for probe into the truth about the forcible drafting of Koreans, Soji Yamada, honorary professor at Rikkyo University, and other Japanese citizens.

The participants paid silent tribute to the victims.

Introduced there were a joint memorial address from the Korean Committee on Measures for the Sexual Slavery for Japanese Army and Drafting Victims and the Association of Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting and Their Bereaved Families and a memorial address from the South Korean Council for Promoting Compensation for the Pacific War Victims.

Speakers at the service expressed the will to make sustained efforts to let the Japanese government recognize the entry of the Korean bereaved families and do their best to pray for the souls of those killed during the air raid on Tokyo and probe the losses suffered by Koreans.
