The appeal, made by the creators of the Spirit of Kangwon Province to the working people across the country, was read out before speeches at the meeting.

The speakers stressed the need to honor the national economy plans ahead of the schedule through a dynamic drive for increased production and creation while waging an all-out charge for building an economic power and improving the standard of people's living.

They called for successfully undertaking any project true to the Party's plan for building the capital city and conducting a dynamic mass technical innovation movement for the home production of various kinds of building materials.

They also expressed the will to further round off the Korean-style iron-production process and ensure the timely supply of iron and steel needed for major projects.

And they declared that they would transport more materials necessary for building a powerful socialist country.

Meanwhile, similar meetings were held at different units in the field of science and technology and major industries to respond to the appeal.
