Ending Submission to U.S. and Normalizing South-North Relations Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 17 (KCNA) -- The Media Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration reportedly issued a statement on March 14, calling for an end to the puppet regime's policy of sycophancy toward the U.S. and the improved south-north relations. The regime's act of pressing for THAAD deployment increased the danger of war, the statement said, adding: Park Geun Hye denied the transfer of OPECON and agreed on rotation deployment of the U.S. forces in south Korea, thus making U.S. forces and their latest weapons in the Pacific and the U.S. mainland find their way to south Korea en masse. This has made it possible for the U.S. forces to intervene in Korea in "contingency" on the Korean peninsula. Park also, yielding to the U.S. demand, reached an "agreement" on the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army, a stumbling block in pressing for the agreement on protection of military intelligence with Japan, and agreed on the measure for the Japan "Self-defence Forces' advance into the Korean peninsula. The Park regime has increased its dependence on the U.S. on the strength of the most shackling south Korea-U.S. "mutual defence treaty" concluded in 1953. By taking the advantage of the U.S. "strategic patience" policy, Park held joint military drills with the U.S. every year, not only bringing the south-north relations to a collapse but also further straining the situation in Northeast Asia. In order to put an end to submission to the U.S. and normalize the south-north relations it is necessary for the political camp as well as civic and social organizations to make south Korea get rid of the military treaty and work hard to ensure that the issue of the peninsula is settled by the concerted efforts of Koreans, the statement held. |
