Choe Jong Jin, acting chairman of the KCTU, stated that the organization decided the "presidential" election to be held on May 9 as an opportunity to achieve great changes in society.

Meanwhile, the KCTU made public on the same day five-point items and 10-point demands including system abolition, withdrawal of part-time jobs and improvement of employment conditions as well as the demands and main programs of affiliated trade unions.
