Ivan Draxler, chairman of the Slovak Association for Supporting and Studying the Juche Idea and chairman of the Slovakia-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee set the celebration period from March 11 to April 20 and decided to organize a lecture, film show and other colorful political and cultural events praising revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Il Sung.
