Present there were members of civic and social organizations including the Confederation of Trade Unions and the Solidarity for Social Progress, citizens from all walks of life and lawmakers from opposition parties.

The participants held the meeting outside a building in Chojon-myon of the county.

A resolution was read out there.

It said that the THAAD deployment is for meeting the interests of the U.S. and Japan, not for defending south Korea.

The act of pressing for the deployment of THAAD is little short of going against the mind-set of candlelight demonstrators, it said, adding:

If the U.S. persistently sticks to crude and hegemonic acts, the anger of 17 million candlelight holders will be directed toward the U.S.

We will hold the 2nd all-people meeting on April 8 together with the people of candlelight protesters aspiring after independence and peace in order to check the THAAD deployment of the U.S. and the authorities.

At the end of the meeting, the participants held a rally after marching to the Lotte Golf Links. They gathered in Sosong-ri again and held a candlelight rally.
