Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- It has been further encouraged in the DPRK to protect the national heritages. Now, the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage is pushing ahead with the work to carry out the plans for reconstructing Anhak Palace and Sokwang Temple, building the Koguryo Museum and restoring scores of old buildings and walls. The authority has set the Sinuiju History Museum in North Phyongan Province as a model unit, while paying great efforts to the protection of scenic spots and natural monuments. It has generalized experiences gained in preserving 70-odd beauty spots of the Songam Cavern throughout the management offices for scenic spots across the country. In close cooperation with relevant units, it has been pushed forward to find and register more intangible cultural heritages of the Korean nation. Meanwhile, it has been accelerated at the final stage to build up a database on geographical information showing the geographical position, genesis and preservation of national heritages in a visual way. |
