Attending it, held to mark the 40th anniversary of the Welding Institute, were scientists, technicians, teachers, graduate students, students and field officials of different units including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the State Academy of Sciences and the Chollima Steel Complex.

More than 130 papers were submitted to the presentation, divided into welding and metal materials panels.

At the presentation there were lectures on the production of rail steel and trend of its development, the trend of developing welding equipment and present situation, and the technology of manufacturing equipment and machine parts to be used in metal and machine industries.
