On this occasion, the Korean people are recalling with deep emotion the immortal life and exploits of Kim Hyong Jik who dedicated his all to the cause of national liberation in the spirit of national independence which urges every Korean to learn knowledge and technical skill for Korea.

The KNA, formed at Hakdang-gol in Pyongyang on March 23, Juche 6 (1917), was the largest one among anti-Japanese underground revolutionary organizations formed by Korean patriots at home and abroad before or after the March First Popular Uprising.

Its aim was to achieve the independence of the country and build a genuine civilized state with the concerted efforts of the entire Korean nation.

Kim Hyong Jik's lifelong will that the independence and prosperity of the country should be achieved by the Korean nation itself has been creditably carried forward by the peerlessly great men.

President Kim Il Sung implanted in the minds of all members of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army the faith of self-reliance and self-development that to make the most of one's might plays a decisive role in giving strong impetus to the revolution.

The tradition of self-reliance created in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle was fully displayed in building a new Korea after the country's liberation. And with this spirit, the DPRK people created the Chollima speed and brought about the heyday in the era of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In the period of the Arduous March, the forced march, a springboard for building a socialist power was provided and the DPRK ranked itself among the satellite manufacturers and launchers and nuclear weapons states thanks to the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance stirred up by leader Kim Jong Il, despite of the moves of the U.S. imperialists and its followers to stifle the DPRK.

Now, the DPRK people are dynamically advancing toward the final victory in building the socialist power, firmly united around respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un with the firm faith that it is the only way out for them to give fullest play to the spirit of self-reliance and self-development.
