Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria and chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee worked out a plan to introduce the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Il Sung and the greatness of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and the achievements made by the Korean people in building a socialist power under his guidance and hold such political and cultural events as celebration meeting and film show on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
