Rodong Sinmun Labels U.S. as World's Worst Human Rights Abuser

Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the U.S. Department of State, in its "Country Report on Human Rights Practices for 2016", took issue with the human rights performance in some countries. It rashly interfered in the internal affairs of various sovereign states over the maltreatment of women and children and the suppression of freedom of civilians. Not content with this, it went the lengths of faulting the frustration of an attempted anti-government military coup in a country. Despite much talk about "human rights" every year, the U.S. is cold- shouldered in various parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America, Rodong Sinmun Friday says in an article. It goes on: The U.S. is disqualified to play the role of a human rights judge. A handful of the privileged are making a mockery of the political rights of the toiling masses through a game of power. This is the anti-human rights nature of the money-dominated U.S.-style election. It is the corrupt U.S.-style freedom and human rights to deprive people of elementary right to existence and all economic, social and cultural rights by shackling them to money. It is the U.S. where human trafficking, targeting children and women, etc., is much more rampant than that in other capitalist countries. It is none other than the U.S., chieftain of invasion and mass-killing, which caused the worst-ever refugee crisis in the Middle East under the pretext of "anti-terror war." The successive U.S. administrations release reports on human rights as national treasure, though they are considered by the international community as waste papers because the U.S. is beset with so many serious human rights issues. Therefore, they invite only derision of all peoples. The U.S. would be well advised to mind its own business before taking issue with others' human rights situation. |
