It made the building of its military capabilities for self-defense the top priority and established the Juche-oriented self-supporting national defense industry by counting on its own strength, not on someone's help, because it knew that the country's sovereignty and prestige and people's destiny depended on the powerful army.

What's more, as the U.S. has consistently pursued the policy hostile toward the DPRK to topple down its socialist system by posing nuclear threat and blackmail, the latter has continued to bolster up its military capability for self-defense with nuclear force as its pivot.
