Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The newly-developed heat-radiation lightweight insulating brick has been widely used in various economic sectors of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The brick makes it possible to sharply reduce the consumption of electric power in heat-treatment furnace and other furnaces and increase the production. In the Rakwon Machine Complex, heating hours were cut down by 4 hours at its heat-treatment furnace built with the bricks with less power consumption and its productivity was increased 1.8 times. The brick, made with locally available raw materials and waste, is superior to chamotte brick in preventing heat loss and low in production cost. The brick was developed by a research group of University of Sciences. Prof. and Dr. Kim Yu Yong told KCNA that its application to all the industrial furnaces across the country will lead to saving tens of thousands kW of electric power. |
