More than 630 homemade building materials of over 120 kinds are on display at the exhibition.

What draws the attention of visitors are building materials made with pumice by the 216 Division.

Kim Thae Ung, department director of the Central Committee of the Architects Union of Korea, told KCNA:

Building materials made with pumice have a wide range of use as they are recognized as multipurpose and green building materials in the 21 century.

They include heat-insulating material, ceiling material, wainscot, flooring material and so on.

The heat-insulating material weights light and is low in heat conductivity. It makes it possible to fully prevent rottenness and clear up dew point in the interior of building.

The ceiling material is of great value in providing an architectural environment favorable to human body.

Meanwhile, wainscots, flooring materials and light board materials patterned with natural stone, grain of wood, bark, block, etc. are expected to add architectural beauty.
