Briefing on Situation Given for Diplomatic Envoys of EU Countries Here
Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- Kim Son Gyong, director-general of the 2nd Department for European Affairs of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, on Tuesday gave a briefing for diplomatic envoys of EU countries here on the present acute situation prevailing in the Korean peninsula.

Kim referred to the present situation of the Korean peninsula that is inching close to the brink of a war due to the largest-ever Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military maneuvers, staged by the U.S., together with the south Korean forces, in an aim to execute their "beheading operation" and "occupation of Pyongyang" after hurling huge strategic assets, and to the measures for self-defense taken by the DPRK to cope with it.

The days had gone when one side enforced something on the other side and the DPRK has both will and capability to readily react to any type of war the U.S. wants, the director-general stressed.

Expressing deep concern about the aggravating situation of the Korean peninsula, those diplomatic envoys hoped that the tension would be ironed out through dialogue.
