Mangyongdae Prize Sports Games Open

| Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- The Mangyongdae Prize Sports Games were opened with due ceremony at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street here on Monday to celebrate the Day of the Sun, birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. The games to be held in Pyongyang, Nampho, Phyongsong and Sariwon cities and other parts of the country, include dozens of events such as football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, boxing and wrestling. Present at the ceremony were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK, officials concerned, players and coaches and citizens. At the end of the ceremony there took place a women's basketball match between Kigwancha and Pyongyang teams. |
