Minju Joson Castigates Japanese Authorities for Implanting Distorted View on History into Minds of Younger Generation

Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan opened to public the results of screening of textbooks for high schools. According to it, the Japanese authorities inserted into 80 percent of textbooks of social subjects for second year students of high schools to be used from early next year the contents that Tok Islets are part of the "territory of Japan" and they were illegally occupied by others. Minju Joson Tuesday in a commentary brings to light the reason why the Japanese authorities are inserting such sheer lies into history textbooks. Japan has long pursued the ambition for militarist overseas expansion and Korea is the primary target of overseas aggression and Tok Islets are like the gateway to invading Korea. Hence, the Japanese reactionaries are working so hard to grab the islets in a bid to create favorable conditions for overseas aggression. Obsessed with the ambition for staging a comeback to Korea, the Japanese reactionaries are keen to imbue the younger generation with the distorted view on history and use them as a shock brigade for overseas aggression which their ancestors failed to realize. The younger generation should be educated in such a way as to know truth of history only and establish a right outlook on the world. It is, therefore, a crime to implant into their minds the view on history peppered with lies, distortions and reactionary ideas, the commentary notes, and goes on: Such criminal moves would only becloud the future of Japan and make the young Japanese fall victim to war of aggression. The day will surely come when the young Japanese will curse the authorities for driving them into crimes after becoming mentally crippled and victims of war of aggression because of the wrong idea. |
