Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Kum Sun Senior Middle School in Sinuiju City, North Phyongan Province of the DPRK is well-known throughout the country for producing national instrumental talents. Teachers have singled out and trained students having genius for playing national instruments. They teach students well to get theoretically and practically used to national musical rhythms, while instructing them to give prominence to national coloring in playing such national instruments as Kayakum (nineteen-stringed Korean harp), Janggu (Korean hourglass drum) and Tanso (Korean short bamboo flute). In particular, kayagum ensemble "Post in Spring" played by the art group members of the school is highly appreciated by audience for successfully rendering vibrant and enchanting melodies with traditional executions based popular rhythms. Many graduates of the school are active as national instrumental players at different art troupes. |
