Korean Student Wins Special Prize at Int'l Piano Concours
Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- Choe Jang Hung, a student of Pyongyang Music School No. 1 of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, took the special place at the Second Moscow Krainev International Piano Concours held in Russia.

It brought together juvenile pianists from more than 20 countries including the DPRK, Russia, Belarus and Canada. The event took place from March 27 to April 1, divided into two age groups.

At the final stage of the competition Choe successfully played world famous songs requiring high skill by displaying refined rendition and delicate musical emotion.

The concours organizing committee awarded the special prize to Choe Jang Hung and the top diploma of teacher to Kim Jae Sil.

Choe came first as the youngest player in the 20th International Juvenile Chopin Piano Contest in its history. He cut a conspicuous figure in this concours, too.

Jury members and experts did not spare praises of the rosy future of the Juche-oriented art, saying that they were struck with deep admiration at promising juvenile pianist Choe who grew up under the warm care of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Choe Jang Hung arrived here on Thursday.
