International Friendship Botanical House

Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- With the approach of the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (April 15), flowers are in full bloom at the International Friendship Botanical House of the Central Botanical Garden in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK. Now, it is crowded with citizens, school youth and children, foreigners and overseas Koreans. In this regard, Kim Myong Ho, a section chief of the garden, told KCNA that many foreigners have visited the botanical house and highly praised it as a showplace of rare plants for revering peerlessly great men and the eternal treasure of humankind, adding: The botanical house has five gift-plant greenhouses like Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia greenhouses and covers an area of over 4,000 square meters. Among gift plants in the greenhouses are more than 1,400 gift plants of over 450 species presented to President Kim Il Sung by heads of state, prominent politicians, organizations for the study of the Juche idea, progressive figures and overseas Koreans of different countries. And they are closely associated with the boundless reverence for the President. The modern greenhouses plays a role of preserving and culturing in a scientific way various species of flowers, flowering plants and fruit trees, including progenitor of Kimilsungia, and propagating them in all parts of the country. |
