Alfonso Galdi, department director of the Communist Party of Italy, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and organize colorful political and cultural events for support to the just cause of the Korean army and people, who are invariably advancing along the road of socialism under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un while frustrating the frantic moves of the imperialists to stifle the DPRK, on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of the President.
