After the emergence of the first preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun, Kim Il Sung's birth anniversary, in Syria in Janauary last year, many preparatory committees have been formed on a nationwide scale or by political parties and organizations across the world. The number of preparatory committees totals to more than 70, including international and regional preparatory committees.

In Russia alone, 10-odd preparatory committees were organized by various political parties and bodies such as the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia and the Russian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK.

The Nepalese national preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun in a declaration appealed to the world progressives to significantly celebrate the birthday of Kim Il Sung who made immortal contribution to the cause of global independence, stressing that his great idea and exploits will remain forever in history.

Governments, political parties and organizations of different countries and international and regional bodies and personages of various circles have expressed their reverence for the President through their statements.

Those preparatory committees are organizing diverse celebration events such as meeting, seminar, round-table talks, book and photo exhibition and film show day after day.

And many political and social personages are visiting the DPRK missions in their countries with floral baskets and bouquets and coming to Pyongyang.
