Association of Korean Children in Jilin
Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- It has been 90 years since the formation of the Association of Korean Children in Jilin.

After embarking upon the road of revolution in his teens, President Kim Il Sung formed the Saenal Children's Union in Fusong, China and moved to Jilin, China for vigorous revolutionary activities.

At that time, students in Jilin remained passive in keeping the class and anti-imperialist stand and failed to take root deeper among the masses. After acquainting himself in detail with the situation, he formed the Association of Korean Children in Jilin, a legal organization, on April 10 1927.

The aim of the Association of Korean Children in Jilin was to educate children in the anti-Japanese idea and bring them up to be reliable reserves for the revolution.

The feats and experience of the Association of Korean Children in Jilin served as important asset for the movement of the Korean children.

Under the guidance of the President, the association pushed ahead with the work to educate children in the anti-Japanese idea and physically prepare them.

In this process, revolutionary forces of new generation had rapidly increased and later, they were embraced in the Anti-Imperialist Youth League (August 27, 1927) and the Young Communist League of Korea (August 28, 1927) to grow into revolutionaries.

The glorious revolutionary tradition of the Korean children's movement provided in the flames of the anti-Japanese struggle has been reliably carried forward by the Korean Children's Union (KCU) after Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule and becomes evermore brilliant under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Today the KCU members are brought up to be reliable pillars of prosperous Korea under the slogan "Always Ready for the Socialist Motherland!"
