25th Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Meeting with Kaysone Phomvihane Observed
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- A friendly gathering was held at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on Wednesday under the co-sponsorship of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, the DPRK-Laos Friendship Association and the Lao embassy here to mark the 25th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's meeting with Kaysone Phomvihane, former chairman of the C.C., Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of Laos.

Earlier, the Lao embassy officials laid a floral basket before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and paid tribute to them.

Present at the gathering were officials concerned, citizens and Lao Ambassador Phonekham Inthaboualy and his embassy officials.

Speakers there said that the friendly relations between the DPRK and Laos are based on the comradeship forged by Kim Il Sung and Kaysone Phomvihane.

They added that the bilateral relations are growing stronger under the deep care of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and Bounnang Vorachith, general secretary of the C.C., LPRP and president of Laos.

They expressed belief that the gathering would mark a good occasion in promoting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

Then, the participants watched an art performance of students of DPRK-Laos Friendship Chongryu Junior Middle School in Taedonggang District.

At the end of the gathering, there took place a sports game between members of the DPRK-Laos Friendship Association and the Lao embassy officials.
