Emilia Fernandes, chairperson of the Brazilian branch of the Women Forum of the Southern Common Market, was elected chairperson of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize diverse political and cultural events including celebration meeting, film show and book and photo exhibition in praise of the revolutionary career and feats of the President on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, his birth anniversary.
