Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- A DPRK book, photo and handicraft exhibition opened at the Art Gallery in Komsomolsk-na-Amure City of Russia on April 5 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. On display in the venue of the exhibition were photos of revolutionary career and feats of the President and leader Kim Jong Il and pictures showing the revolutionary activities of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. Also displayed were works of great men born of Heaven of Mt Paektu and publications on the advantages of the people-centered Korean-style socialist system and its development, handicrafts showing the wisdom and talents of the Korean people, etc. Present at the opening ceremony were the mayor of the Komsomolsk-na-Amure City and other figures of the city administration, staff members of the art gallery, citizens from all walks of life, presspersons and the vice-consul general and consuls in Khabarovsk. Then speeches were made at the ceremony. The mayor said that he was pleased that there took place such an exhibition on the occasion of the 105th birth anniversary of the President, the great leader of the Korean people, adding: The President is the world-famous statesman who is recognized by the world. Kim Jong Il's visit to the city in the year of 2002 was a historic occasion that powerfully propelled the development of the long-standing friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK. The traces left by him in the city will always be remembered. I am convinced that the exhibition will offer the citizens a good opportunity for learning more about the time-honored cultural traditions of the nation, creative talents of the Korean people and the reality of developing DPRK. I hope that such a good exhibition will take place in the future, too. The event will continue until April 22. |
