Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Marks Day of Sun
Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) organizations took place here on Friday to celebrate the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

It was attended by the delegates of the KCU organizations from each province and schoolchildren here, and pupils to join the KCU.

Present there on invitation were Choe Ryong Hae, vice-chairman of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, officials concerned, officials of the youth league, war veterans and persons of merit.

Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the C.C., the youth league, in his report recalled that Kim Il Sung who provided the tradition of the Juche-oriented children's movement in the flames of the anti-Japanese struggle founded the KCU after the liberation of the country and brought up the rising generation as reliable successors to the Juche revolution.

The history of his love for them had been given a steady continuity by leader Kim Jong Il while providing Songun revolutionary leadership, the reporter said, adding:

Thanks to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who translates the great leaders' noble intention of showing love for the younger generation and future into stirring realities, the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" is resounding far and wide on this land.

The reporter called on the members of the KCU to register successes in study and organizational life, socio-political activities and good-conduct movement.

Then followed a KCU admission ceremony.

The pupils joining the KCU took an oath, led by Choe Ryong Hae.

Officials, war veterans and persons of merit put red ties around the necks of the pupils and pinned KCU badges on their dresses.

The new KCU members made the first salute of the KCU members, responding to the slogan "Let us be always ready for socialist country!"

Congratulatory speeches were made at the meeting.
