Korean Cultural Exhibition Opens in China

Dandong, April 14 (KCNA-Correspondent) -- The DPRK's cultural exhibition was opened with due ceremony in Dandong, China on Friday to mark the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Depicted at the DPRK-China Cultural Exhibition is the old home in Mangyongdae where Kim Il Sung was born, and a large poster bearing the flags of the DPRK and China is standing there. On display at the venue of the exhibition are photos dealing with the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the personality of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un as a great man. Also displayed there are their works, Kimilsungias and Kimjongilias, flowers of the sun, books, pictures and stamps introducing the picture of the DPRK and the history and cultural traditions of Korea and art pieces showing the creative talents of the Korean people. Present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Pak Myong Ho, charge d'affaires ad interim of the DPRK embassy in Beijing, and his embassy members, a DPRK's delegation of the cultural exhibition for celebrating the Day of the Sun led by Vice-Minister of Culture Ri Sun Chol, Koreans in China, the deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Liaoning Provincial People's Government of China, the deputy mayor of the Dandong City People's Government and other Chinese personages and citizens. The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the photos of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un and paid tribute to them. Ri Sun Chol said in an opening speech that the exploits performed by the President in laying the eternal foundations for accomplishing the cause of the Juche revolution will shine forever. Ri referred to the history and tradition of the friendship between the DPRK and China provided by Kim Il Sung together with the elder leaders of China. He noted that the exhibition would offer a good occasion to make visitors know better about exploits of the great leaders and the personality of Kim Jong Un as a great man. Congratulatory speeches were made there. After looking round the exhibition, Chinese personages hoped that the exhibition would contribute to developing the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples. The exhibition goes on till April 17. |
