People's Art Festival Closes
Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The 5th April Spring People's Art Festival closed with due ceremony at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Monday. It opened here on the occasion of the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Present at the closing ceremony were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK, and other senior party and state officials and officials concerned.

There was a prize-awarding ceremony.

Special prize went to the art squad of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League and other five itinerant art squad and groups. Group prize was awarded to 18 units, ensemble prize to 19 art pieces and 12 units, creation prize to 42 persons and prize for best acting to 59 persons.

At the magic festival, top prize, prize and creation prize went to 7 persons.

Diplomas and cups were awarded together with the prizes.

A letter to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the ceremony.

Pak Chun Nam, minister of Culture and chairman of the festival organizing committee, in his closing address expressed belief that all the participants in the festival would make a radical turn in the production of literature and art pieces and mass-based cultural and art activities and a turn in the Juche-based literary and art development through the festival.

Then a closing performance was given by the units which proved successful at the festival.
