The site is a place where President Kim Il Sung nurtured his high ambition to liberate the country after having made the 250-mile journey for learning and where Kang Pan Sok, an outstanding leader of the Korean women's movement, was born and spent her childhood.

The site has been visited by more than 29 million people from all walks of life, school youth and children, overseas compatriots and foreigners for the past 62 years since it was opened to visitors.

More than 370 units have visited it this year alone.
