Marwan Sudah, chairman of the Arab Committee for Solidarity with the Korean People and Supporting the Reunification of Korea, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize diverse political and cultural events praising the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the said gathering.

Marwan Sudah, in a statement issued on the same day, expressed the will to give wide publicity to the greatness and exploits of the peerlessly great persons of Mt Paektu and conduct brisk activities for support to the Korean people in the vigorous struggle against the moves of the imperialists.
