It was a historic event which heralded the founding of new-type revolutionary armed forces and a genuine army of the leader and the Party that President Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army on April 25, Juche 21 (1932), the editorial notes, and goes on:

Kim Il Sung founded the Party right after the liberation of the country. Then, he developed the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into regular revolutionary armed forces without delay so as to provide a solid guarantee for defending the revolutionary cause of the Party by force of arms.

Leader Kim Jong Il set it as the general task for building the army to model the entire army on Kimilsungism and opened up a new history of building the Juche-based revolutionary army of the Party with his energetic leadership.

When the Korean revolution faced the sternest ordeals, he performed gigantic historic exploits by developing the KPA into elite militant ranks and leading the unprecedented struggle for defending socialism to a victory after another by pursuing the unique Songun (army-first) politics and thus putting the country on the status of a world-class military power.

Upholding the peerlessly brilliant commanders of Songun in high esteem, our People's Army has performed the distinguished feats which other classes, strata and groups in society can never do in carrying out the socialist cause of Juche since its foundation.

Only victory and glory are in store for the KPA led by respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.

Minju Joson declares that final victory is in store for us as there are the army and people single-mindedly rallied close around Kim Jong Un and the invincible military might with the nuclear force as its pivot.
