Wreaths Laid before Revolutionary, Patriotic Martyrs Cemeteries
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri and the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on Tuesday, the 85th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

Seen on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the KPA.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior Party and state leading officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the Party, armed forces and power organs, the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and working people in Pyongyang.

The participants laid bouquets before the bust of anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and observed a moment's silence in memory of her.

Laid on the wreath-laying stands of the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri were the wreaths in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK and on the wreath-laying stand "Soul of Heroes" of the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery a wreath in the joint name of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK.

Also laid there were wreaths in the names of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of People's Security, working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, units of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, institutions of science, education, literature and arts, public health and the press, and party and power bodies, farms, etc. in Pyongyang.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs and went round the cemeteries.

Meanwhile, wreaths were also laid before the statues of martyrs, martyrs cemeteries, memorial towers for the fallen soldiers of the KPA and martyrs graves across the country on the same day.
