Most of city and county tree nurseries have produced millions or ten millions of saplings to the maximum on an average every year, thus increasing the nationwide sapling production by more than 1.6 times.

The sapling production is also put on a more scientific, industrial and intensive basis.

Every nursery has remodeled or built sapling greenhouses to be capable of automatically controlling interior environment and introduced valuable sci-tech achievements into sapling production.

Saplings are also cultivated on a mass scale.

In Thaechon County, North Phyongan Province, every family grows more than one hundred saplings. And the furniture factory in Huichon City produces tens of thousands of Larix lepolepis saplings in its nursery.

The forest science institutes and other relevant organs succeeded in home-production of plant nutriments to be conducive to turning the country into thick woodland and greenery at an early date.
