Men and women players of the April 25 Sports Team, the Defense Sports Team of the Korean People's Army and Korea University of Physical Education bettered national records in swimming, shooting and weightlifting events.

The male and female players of the April 25 Sports Team came first in the basketball event and male players of the Sobaeksu Sports Team and female players of the Pyongyang Sports Team finished first in the volleyball event.

The closing ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street here on Friday.

Present there were Choe Ryong Hae and officials concerned, sportspersons and citizens.

Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, addressing the ceremony, appealed to all the players, coaches and officials to win more gold medals this significant year when the Conference of Mallima Frontrunners will be held.
