Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- It has been 80 years since President Kim Il Sung founded Sogwang, an organ of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA). On this occasion, people in the DPRK recall the feats the President performed in creating the tradition of revolutionary publication during the anti-Japanese armed struggle. The President founded Sogwang as an agitprop means appropriate for the guerrilla warfare on May 3, Juche 26 (1937) in step with the anti-Japanese armed struggle developing onto a new higher stage. Reflected in the name of Sogwang were the cherished desire of the Korean nation for the country's liberation from Japan's colonial rule and the will of revolutionaries to beat down the heinous Japanese imperialists and cast the dawn of national liberation. Sogwang had played a big role in bringing a new peak to the development of the overall Korean revolution centered on the anti-Japanese armed struggle and preparing the KPRA members and popular masses politically and practically. The President also made public in Sogwang his famous work "The Tasks of Korean Communists", which served as a militant banner in overthrowing the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and accomplishing the cause of the national liberation. After the country's liberation, the new Juche-oriented media like Rodong Sinmun, the organ of the Workers' Party of Korea, were founded on the basis of the precious traditions of revolutionary publication created by the President. And they made a victorious advance under the guidance of leader Kim Jong Il. Now, the politico-ideological position of the DPRK is solid and its might grows as the days go by, as the DPRK is led by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who holds fast to the mass media as a powerful ideological weapon of the Songun revolution. |
