Work for Improving Educational Conditions, Environment Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- A brisk work has been conducted in the DPRK to improve the educational conditions and environment.

This year alone, more than 100 blocks of school buildings were built or renovated and over 11,100 classrooms and labs refurbished across the country.

Pyongyang City takes the lead in constructing, renovating and repairing school buildings and putting education on an IT and modern basis.

The city pushed forward the construction of school building at June 9 Ryongbuk Senior Middle School after setting it as a model unit and finished the construction of four school buildings in the first quarter of the year as planned.

The work of face-lifting schools is at its height in South Hwanghae Province, too.

Pyoksong County provided more than 1,500 pieces of 12 varieties of teaching equipment and fixtures to schools in the county in March, month of aiding schools.

Cities and counties in North Phyongan Province provided IT study rooms and basic technology labs at primary and middle schools with teaching tools and apparatuses for experiments and practical training.

The Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Public Health, the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex and other ministries, national institutions and enterprises satisfactorily provided apparatuses for experiments and practical training for education.
